This policy explains what Hola Clarita collects, why we use it, how cookies and analytics work, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information such as your name, email address, authentication details, profile settings, and profile photo if you add one.
  • Learning activity such as Foundations course progress, lesson checks, repair items, module practice attempts, AI-powered coach usage, and credit or subscription status.
  • Billing information handled through Stripe, including subscription status and payment-related identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Technical and usage information such as device/browser details, approximate location derived from IP address, logs, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the service.
  • Email delivery information for transactional messages such as account confirmation, magic links, and password reset emails.
  • If you opt in to marketing emails, we collect consent records such as opt-in status, consent time, consent source, consent text version, unsubscribe status, and related email delivery or engagement information.

How we use information

  • To provide the Foundations course, save progress, personalize practice, generate repair, and operate account features.
  • To operate AI-powered coach features, enforce free/pro usage limits, prevent abuse, and improve lesson and practice quality.
  • To manage subscriptions, billing status, support, fraud prevention, account security, and service reliability.
  • To understand site and product performance, measure marketing effectiveness, fix bugs, and improve the user experience.
  • To send transactional account emails such as confirmations, magic links, password resets, billing notices, and important service updates.
  • If you opt in, to send lesson tips, onboarding guidance, product updates, reminders, and occasional offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime.

Cookies and analytics

  • Hola Clarita uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the service working, remember account/session state, measure usage, and understand how visitors find and use the website.
  • We use Google Analytics to collect usage, traffic, and event information such as pages viewed, approximate region, device/browser type, referral source, signup activity, CTA clicks, checkout activity, onboarding activity, and lesson activity. Google may process this information according to its own policies.
  • When Google Ads measurement is enabled, we may use it to understand whether ads lead to signups or other important actions. We do not intentionally send sensitive personal information to Google Analytics or Google Ads.
  • You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Some account or learning features may not work correctly if required cookies or storage are blocked.

AI-powered coach practice data

  • When you use coach practice, your lesson or module context, practice messages, and related settings may be sent to our AI provider to generate coach responses.
  • AI responses may be imperfect. Avoid entering sensitive personal information in practice chats. Hola Clarita is for language learning, not legal, medical, financial, or emergency advice.
  • We may review aggregated or limited practice data to improve course quality, safety, and product performance.

Sharing and processors

  • We use service providers such as Supabase for authentication/database, Stripe for billing, Resend for transactional and opted-in marketing or lifecycle email, Google Analytics/Google Ads for measurement, and Google/Gemini or other AI infrastructure providers for coach responses.
  • These providers process information on our behalf or as independent service providers according to their own terms and privacy policies.
  • We do not sell personal information. We may share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent abuse or fraud, or as part of a business transfer.

Location and international processing

  • Hola Clarita is initially intended for users in Canada and the United States.
  • Our service providers may process and store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from those where you live.

Your choices

  • You can update your profile, change your password, clear learning progress, manage billing, or delete your account from Account where available.
  • You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information, subject to legal and operational limits.
  • Marketing emails are optional. If you opt in, you can unsubscribe anytime using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting support. Transactional account, security, service, and billing emails may still be sent when needed to operate the service.

Security and retention

  • We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service is perfectly secure.
  • We keep information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.
  • If you delete your account, some information may remain in backups, logs, billing records, or records we are required to keep for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
